Who we are
The PaneDrop website (panedrop.app) and the PaneDrop app are provided by Nicher, Republic of Korea.
This website
This website sets no cookies, runs no tracking scripts, makes no requests to third parties and has no forms.
Access logs
Our hosting provider, Amazon Web Services (Amazon CloudFront and Amazon S3), delivers this website and its downloads. To send a page or a file to you, it has to process your IP address.
We keep an access log of requests to this website so that we can count Public Beta downloads and see which websites refer visitors to us. Each log record holds only these fields:
- the date of the request (
date) - the time of the request (
time) -
the delivery location that served it (
x-edge-location) -
the request method (
cs-method) -
the path requested, without any query string
(
cs-uri-stem) -
the response status (
sc-status) -
the number of bytes sent (
sc-bytes) -
the content length (
sc-content-len) -
the start of a requested byte range (
sc-range-start) -
the end of a requested byte range (
sc-range-end) -
whether the response came from the cache
(
x-edge-result-type) -
the referring page, if your browser sends one
(
cs(Referer)) -
your browser’s user agent string (
cs(User-Agent))
The access log does not record:
- your IP address (
c-ip) -
forwarded IP addresses (
x-forwarded-for) -
cookies (
cs(Cookie)) -
query strings (
cs-uri-query)
The logs are stored privately and encrypted, are not publicly accessible, and are deleted after 90 days.
The PaneDrop app
The app keeps its settings, the session you last dropped into, the agent
you assign to each session and an index of your captures in
~/Library/Application Support/io.nicher.panedrop/ on your
Mac.
Screenshots you capture are saved as PNG files in
~/Library/Caches/io.nicher.panedrop/captures/, and the text
of each drop request is saved as a file in
~/Library/Caches/io.nicher.panedrop/drop-requests/.
The app deletes captures and request files after 7 days by default. You can choose from 1 to 365 days in Settings.
The Public Beta stores when your beta period started and when the app
last checked the time in your macOS Keychain (service
io.nicher.panedrop, account beta-clock).
The Public Beta has no telemetry, no license check and no update check, and the app itself sends nothing over the network.
To list your sessions, the app reads information about your terminal sessions on your Mac. It does not send that information anywhere.
When the beta ends, the app can open panedrop.app in your web browser. That visit is an ordinary website visit, covered by the access logs above.
Your choices
You can remove the data described above by deleting the folders
~/Library/Application Support/io.nicher.panedrop/ and
~/Library/Caches/io.nicher.panedrop/ and the
io.nicher.panedrop items in Keychain Access. Deleting the
app alone leaves these folders on your Mac.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update this page and its effective date.
